The HRC held a plenary session with Balázs Hankó, Minister of Culture and Innovation
At the plenary session held on 5 November 2025, in addition to the re-election of the co-chairs and the chair and co-chairs of the Hungarian Rectors' Conference's Model Changing Section, several important topics were discussed by those present.
Balázs Hankó provided information on current developments in Hungarian higher education, also touching on their international significance. After presenting the HRC's intensive international networking activities, Béla Merkely, president of the HRC, presented a proposal on the system of awards that can be given at higher education institutions, which was accepted by the HRC Plenary and subsequently submitted to the Ministry of Culture and Innovation.
The HRC report on the state of Hungarian science this year, jointly prepared by the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and Semmelweis University, was also presented and accepted by the HRC Plenary.
